TEACHING PHILOSOPHY

A teaching philosophy is an important teaching element. It helps to provide focus on the individual's mission and goals and helps provide a framework when developing teaching strategies.
It is intended to be a reflection process to help educator's professional growth. As expected, it is always a work in progress. To review my current philosophy. Click the link below.

PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT PLAN

A professional development plan helps to structure professional goals to enhance professional skills, increase the knowledge base and improve overall performance. A professional development plan can lead to increased job satisfaction and encourage motivation to attain career aspirations. This plan is ever-changing to encourage continued growth.

COURSE MATERIALS

I pride myself on organization. See an example of a weekly outline provided to my students in The Growing Years Course OTA 1650. A rubric example for group presentations is also posted.
I use the Google Add-On OrangeSlice: Teacher Rubric to assist with quick, easy, and efficient grading.

TEACHING EVALUATIONS

Teaching evaluations can lead to improved instructional practices, enhancement of student learning and achievement, and ensure the retention of effective teachers (Robinson, n.d.) I welcome observations and evaluations as they provide me the opportunity to receive constructive feedback on current teaching strategies and help to identify instructional strengths and weaknesses. See the last two adjunct evaluation forms by clicking the links below.

COURSE DATA COLLECTION

By collecting data on student performance, educators can determine the strength and effectiveness of their instructional decisions. See my test blueprint for one of my mini-exams in the OTA 1650 course (questions specifics have been deleted) along with my SLO data collection form by clicking the links below.
